How can I purchase a deeded parking space in downtown hoboken area?

Asked by Hobokennewbies, Hoboken, NJ Sun May 10, 2009

Some of the condos in downtown area come without parking space...and some of them have deeded parking not in the same but in another building. The sellers have told me that they bought the spot for extra $25,000. If this is the case, I would want to shop around for a deeded lot myself without paying the extra $25,000. Does anyone have an idea?

There are not too many buildings in downtown Hoboken that sell separate parking spaces. Some of the condo buildings near the PATH have deeded parking outside their buildings at the Hoboken Municipal Garages on 3rd and Hudson St. Spots are not available for sale there. They are rented through the Hoboken Parking Utility for about $225 to $250 per month. For further information, they can be reached at 201-653-1921.

I have heard of parking being sold at 415 Newark St. (Observer Plaza), but I am not sure of current pricing.

If you cannot buy parking, there are many rental options in town from anywhere from $200 to $300 per month. I rent garage parking 3 blocks from my house for $205 per month.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be happy to assist.
