You must have just watched a late night seminar, eh? Nottrying to throw cold water on you but do a lot of research. The interest rate paid on these is different in each county of each state, I believe. That said, its not as simple as just paying back taxes then waiting to get the property. You will most likely have that scenario on strange pieces of land that no one wants, condemned real estate, etc. Good luck though, there are pearls to be found.

Here is a link to where you can go to view the list and bid. Miami Dade does the tax sales online only.

You may be thinking of purchasing tax certificates. That is a great strategy.
You can get the list from the Tax assessors office in any county.
As you know, or will discover, that list is not always so easy to decipher and timing is critical.
There are services you can join to make this process much easier. They, however, do not meet your first criteria...FREE.

Best of success to you.

I don't know of any listing service that merely identifies homes that owe back taxes. In my local area, we are fully automated where I can search the tax assessor site for a specific home to determine the tax payment status. Or, if your area has this feature online for the general public, you can search property recordings specific for tax liens. Outside of that, I recommend you contact a local agent that may have another way locally of getting lists for you. Good luck.
