I'm looking for recommendations on home inspection companies in Memphis? Or ones you've had a bad experience that I should avoid.

The DoscherTeam highly recommends House Call Inspection Service, LLC. We have received raving reviews from our clients regarding the inspectors' professionalism, quality of service and FREE re-inspections and limited home warranty.

AVOID House Call Inspection!!! Unreliable. When we contracted House Call they qouted us one price (whcich was stated in the contract) then called to say that the price had changed because they had to charge taxes. The "taxes" they charged didn't add up correctly. Secondly, they charge $75 if you cancel less than 30 hours before. HOWEVER, after I took a day off of work to complete the inspection with them and, THEY CANCELLED 30 MINUTES BEFORE the scheduled time!!! Their reason was because the house was to "too old". Apparently, the house aged from the inital phone call we had with them when we told them how old it was.
I would greatly recommend Jason Lovelace with Precison Inspections. He is a certified master inspector. Showed up on time. Great attitude and extremely helpful!

We highly recommend Picture Perfect Inspections, Brandon Dyles. We have used Brandon for many inspections and he has never been late or missed an appointment. His reports are very detailed and reasonable. Contact Brandon at 901-239-3448 or visit http://www.pictureperfectinspections.com

If you email me direct I can give yoy a list of home inspectors that my clients have used and really like. The inspection process is about YOU the buyer - not me the Realtor. My partner and I sell over 200 homes a year for the past 11 years - we have seen good inspections and bad ones.

I think you are very smart to inquire about an inspection on your investment.

Best wishes,

I just had my third home inspection with House Call Inspection Service and I recommend them highly. I used House Call for the first time in 2005 when my wife and I moved to Memphis. We recently started looking at houses in Germantown. House Call helped us again and found some significant issues (rusted furnace, foundation issue) with a house that we almost purchased . After going over the report with the inspector on-site we decided to look at other houses and found one we actually like better and for less money! They print the report at the inspection and even come back for free to check the repairs. I highly recommend House Call.

I will never use Amerispec again. They claimed to be Amerispec and then after the problems I found out they were a franchise of Amerispec named Sterling and my realtor Crye-Leike referred them to me. What a mistake to let a realtor recommend and inspector. The realtor wants the house sold and their "inspector" has a conflict with their referral in my opinion. They did a lousy home inspection in my opinion and I have numerous problems they failed to note on their inadequate report. Their inspection report was a joke.

NEVER USE AN INSPECTION COMPANY that your realtor recommends as they have a conflict in reporting the TRUTH about the condition of the house. Remember, the realtor wants the house sold and for them to refer a home inspector to you means trouble for the buyer in my opinion. If they get a good inspector that reports the problems he sees and doesn't rely on the real esate company for repeat business they will have a problem in that realtor calling them again because they "killed" the deal with the problems they found.

Memphis Inspection Service, LLC is the company we recommend as thorough and with excellent follow through. Please check his site in the link provided. Steve had years of experience with Amerispec before he opened his own company, and has many realtors who followed him due to his work skills.

I don't generally recommend vendors but Picture Perfect Home Inspections always does a thorough job and quickly (usually the same evening) provides a concise report wtih pictures to back up observations via email.
