Here are a couple links that may be helpful. They provide noise maps and other noise abatement information for SRQ.

The homes in the Uplands area are located on the fringe of the USF / New College campus and Crosley Mansion / Ringling Museum. It is a beautiful area.

Many of the homes surrounding the Sarasota Bradenton airport have had noise abatement windows installed.

You can also check the flight patterns and frequency of the incoming / departing flights.

Here is a link to the SRQ noise abatement program that started in 1990.

The area is very nice but when you have an airport you have planes landing & taking off, hence noise.
I originally come from New York and as a child lived four blocks from a fire station, very noisy but with all things you get used to it so it is more a matter of what bothers you and what doesn't. I have many friends in that area that love it however it would bother me but that is a personal decision.
What is important is what is it about that area that attracts you. As a realtor of over thirty years I find that it is all important to sit down with you and explore what you life style is and then figure out where you will be the most happy. If this makes sense to you please get in touch with me and I will be more than happy to meet with you with no obligations and see if I can be of help.

Best wishes,

My office is located just about a mile from the airport and I am very familiar with the location and airport noise. Please feel free to call me at your convenience, I would more than happy to explain the locations of the flight paths in the area.

Yes you should it is right across the street from SRQ there is no getting away from it. I recently sold one in that neighborhood. It did get sold but there were many who objected to it due to the noise. I'm not saying it is a bad area mind you this home was a good buy for the client that got. I have a friend that commutes in and out a lot too and he likes it because he can walk to his home when he arrives, and keeps a car here. Any detailed question feel free to call me anytime.

Noise is a subjective issue, however the big jets do not fly over that neighborhood. The flight path is about a mile to the north. I've held many open houses there and people commented as to how little the neighborhood is impacted by aircraft noise.

Our office is about a mile away so let me know if I can help you.
