Older than 2000? There have been wonderful updates to the characteristics of recently constructed homes. Plus, warranty, upgrades, etc on a newly constructed home.

You can get a real good condo in the Galleria area. I just moved a wonderful woman into an apartment community whom just sold her condo for about $85,000. We could lease that one bedroom unit, with wood floors, with about 900 square feet form about $1,000. Here Home payments with HOA fee included was about $790 plus an HOA fee of $200-ish. Cash deal?

The type of property does exist. They are not as easy to come by as they were 2 years ago though.
