Grrr...why don't most listings include the HOA fees?

Asked by Fay, Downtown, Pittsburgh, PA Sun Feb 8, 2009

I am only interested in properties with low fees - no more than $400per quarter. Any condos meet that criteria between Boca and Boynton Beach? Thanks!

Leisureville has small fees, especially if the seller has the rec lease paid, which a lot of them do. The fees run about $110 a month. I will be happy to show you around, I specialize in 55+ communities. Let me know what your situation is, are you renting or have to sell first or a 2nd home?

Hi Fay, I"m no longer in that area but when I was I can't think of any Condo's with fees that low. At $400/qtr your talking $133/month. You would need to find smaller, older condo's to get anywhere near that. Good luck.

I'd be hard pressed to find you a condo where the fees are where you feel comfortable paying. With exterior upkeep (roof repair and replacement, painting, landscaping, pool maintenance, etc) and managment fees, reserves, insurance on the building and most often basic cable included it would seem impossible.

I wish I could help you out and if I do come across one I'll let you know.
