For a brand new residential property in Atlanta, GA, how many years would this new property be tax abated? I thought it was 7 yrs. Thanks in advance!

Hi Maranda,
If you are speaking about property taxes I have never heard of any tax abatements in GA. We sell new properties all the time and property taxes are paid from day one with no abatements. Usually the original tax bill may be lower because taxes were paid on unimproved land before the home was built. Once the sale is reported the new tax on land and improvements is calculated and an updated tax bill is created.
