First time buyer looking for an FHA lender.

Asked by Phil2841, Chicago, IL Mon Feb 2, 2009

Is it better to go to a direct lender such as countrywide or get help from a mortgage broker?

Here's a third nomination for Dominic White at Wells Fargo in Schaumburg. He's a knowledgeable person to work with, and knows the latest FHA guidelines and loan qualifications. He would be your best bet in Schaumburg. It also seems that he works 24/7, so he'll be very easy to get ahold of! :)

Dominic White at Wells Fargo was excruciatingly difficult to work with during our home buying experience. Even my lawyer was disgusted with him. The worst part was when I gave him an honest review at the end, he left me a nasty voicemail with several inappropriate names (that would be flagged if I mentioned them in this post). He's an embarrassment to the company.

I agree with Lyn that the Well-Fargo loan officer Dominic is a great choice. We work with him a lot. He is right in our office, so after Lyn finds you the right home, you can walk across the hall.

I suggest my clients work with someone they know that has the backing of a large lending institution.

Here's an interesting recent insight into Countrywide from MSNBC

Send me an email and I'll be happy to give you a couple of names of local mortgage officers that care about your satisfaction and will work hard to get everything done right.

Good Househunting!
