FHA risk based MIP rates

Asked by Bob141964, Mesquite, TX Mon Nov 16, 2009

Hi, a quick question about FHA loans. Is the FHA still doing MIP's based on people's credit score? I had read that between oct of last year and oct this year that they were basing people's MIP according to their FICO. I have a FICO >700, and was wondering if I would be charged the 1.25% up front MIP, or have they gone back to a flat rate for everyone regardless of credit score? I think back before Oct '07, they charged everybody the same (1.5?).
Thanks, B
