Does the land come with the purchase of....?

I was told, in FL, the land comes with the purchase of a townhouse, as opposed to a condo which does not include the land. Is this true everywhere in FL?

In a townhome, you own the land beneath the unit, whereas in a condo, you own only the interior airspace. This is why a condo can have units above or beneath it, while a townhome cannot.

CAUTION: One cannot tell for certain simply by looking if a housing unit is a condo. There are condos which look like ranch townhomes, as well as condos which appear to be single family detached homes. It depends upon how the property is deeded.

Actually I lived in Florida for 20 years, however I moved before gettting my Real Estate License. I have very good friends of mine who does live in Florida and does have his/her license. They are a couple who would be able to answer that question. Your best source for any of your real estate question would be a qualified real estate professional. If you would like for me to put you in touch with one in Florida, please let me know.
