Hello, the houses in Bed Stuy are going for great prices. I'm not sure if you realize, but Bed Stuy was on fire when the market was jumping. There aren't many one family homes in Bed Stuy, but I'm sure you can find one or more.

Try going on some other sites like homes.m, realtor.com and nytimes.com and put in the zip code for that area which is 11221. Good luck and if you are serious about buying soon feel free to give me a call.

If you are not familiar with the area, now is the time to explore--look at everything that is important to you such as transportation, shops, dine at a local eatery, etc. Since most sellers have representation anyway, so should you--interview a few agents and choose the one you like best and take it from there. You'll be glad you did.

Josh, this is not something that you should necessarily talk about publicly. To the original poster, if you plan to get a mortgage on the home, and it is set up as a two-family while there is only a CO for a 1 family, you could have an issue, especially if you plan on an FHA loan.
If you have any questions about financing a home, please feel free to give me a call at 516-972-1687.

Dear InNeedOfAHome,

I do a lot of work in Bedford Stuyvesant and am VERY familiar with the Malcolm X / Madison area. There are a few listings there currently. The single families depending on condition start in the middle $300's and can go as high as $425k. Again it really depends on condition. I recently closed on Jefferson not far from Malcolm X as a Buyer's Broker, and my client got a 3 level single family for $389000 that had 2 units. (the second unit wasnt on the Cert of Occupancy so they got a two family......for a single family price!) At any rate, i invite you to visit my website or give me a buzz if I might be of more assistance. happy house hunting.
