When inspecting our home for a real estate sale, he forced a damper door on a furnace, which
bent the door and because of the automatic safety shut-off value, kept turning our gas on and
off intermittently...a safety hazard. (Consumers Energy said it was fine when they just turn ON the as)
which has an automatic shut-off (which Consumers Energy had just turned the gas
on and it was not broken then) When I called to complain...his answer was "you can't prove anything"
Now that is a company worth dealing with. Any reputable company would guarantee their service, be licensed, have certifications. NOTE: Anyone in Michigan can be a Home Inspector knowledgeable, reputable or not. Be weary....
Pillar to Post is a chain and not all are created alike. Go here: http://westwayne.pillartopost.com/bookinspection to request an inspection. Matt & Dustin are the best if you cannot get Dave. You won't be sorry. Don't let anyone talk you into a cheap, uneducated inspector. Great agents want you to have a great inspector. Avoid any inspector that calls himself/herself Anti-Realtor. That's a scare tactic. Great inspectors are tough to come by.
He has handled several inspections for me and my clients over the last few years. He is honest, reliable, on time, and delivers an easy to read report via email within a few hours of performing the inspection. They are also have credentials, and communicate very well with my customers.
