Home Buying in Dedham>Question Details

Considering house in Dedham, Canton, Weymouth, Norwood, Braintree...any others?

Asked by kosmo886, Weymouth, MA Mon Feb 1, 2010

I am looking to narrow/build a list of towns to begin my home search. So far I have thought about the above towns, but don't know a whole lot about them. My general criteria are to find a 2-3 bed, 1-2 bath that is quickly accesible to south station (commuter rail zone 3 and inwards I would say). Price range is 300ish. Could go a little over, but would like to keep 300 as a max if possible. I am fine with updating/cosmetic fixes, but don't want any major structural issues. Any thoughts on other towns meeting my criteria or charachteristics of those above that make them better or worse? Thanks!

How are you? I would suggest you click on the link below, use it to research the specifics schools systmes, crime rates, etc of the towns you have on your list so far and then decide whether you would like to narrow down on any on your list prior to adding more towns. After narrowing down a town post your research, feel free to email me and i can send you a list of properties in that town that's within your search criteria. Hi There,

You definitely have a good list going! Were you looking for a single family or townhome? Quincy is also another great option as it is very commuter friendly. With the 300,000 you would be able to find some promising prospects. Braintree will be a bit more on the expensive side over weymouth, and while you could certainly find something it might need a little more updating.

I work a lot in these areas and would be happy to send you over some examples of what you get for your money in each town.

Feel free to call or e-mail me at any time.
