Can someone tell me about the school system in TR. Thinking about moving there and wanted to know which areas have the best public schools.

TR has a regional school system. All schools are equal. Depending on which section of TR you live, will decide which schools your children will go to.

There are a number of elementary schools
3 intermediate schools and 3 high schools.

There is also a parochial school in town, from which you can choose.

Raised three children in this school system and they have each gone on to college and gotten numerous graduate degrees. They were very well prepared.

Good luck!

My wife is an employee of the TRSD , you can't go wrong with any of the public schools. If there are any special needs or full day kindergarten or any of those concerns then certain schools are better equipped than others . I would be happy to go through each one with you if you wish.

Hello there, S.

To answer your question, many, many families move here because the schools are considered so good. Toms River is a large town, and there are several schools, so the children are not all crammed into one or two schools. Here are some sites you can check out:,, and

In addition, you have close access to the beaches and boardwalk, The Ritacco Center, adjacent to TR High School North, which hosts concerts and other events. Then you have downtown Huddy Park which has farmers markets in the summer and all other types of organized events in the downtown area, including THE BEST Halloween Parade in the whole wide world! We are also very centrally located, and situated within a decent driving distance to Atlantic City, Philadelphia, and New York.

All of these factors make living at the Jersey Shore a winning combination! The Jersey Shore is My Biz! I hope I have effectively answered your questions. Thanks

If you go to my website, you will find information provided by an outside source regarding schools nation wide.
Just type in Toms River and it will provide you with all the information on both private and public schools.

I have found that many of us in TR are school "Snobs". For instance my kids went to High School South and West Dover elementary. They have turned out to be successful adults. Ask one of my fellow agents and they'll brag about their child's elementary or high school! All in all, schools are great here and I think a lot is due to dedicated parents' involvement.

You may want to choose an area based on sports, band or other activities. One high school may be predominant in football, softball or tennis. Whatever your child's passion, you'll probably find it available.

Good luck in your home search. I'm available at any time if needed (Cell: 732-245-1642).

Having lived in Toms River for 30 years, worked in the Toms River schools fifteen years, and had three children educated in the Toms River schools I can vouch for the effectiveness of the educational process. Of course, I would recommend the TR North section because that is where my children thrived!
