Can someone help me? I recently graduated college and now work in NE Philadelphia. I am looking for a townhouse or condo that allows dogs and is FHA.

Hi Lady,

Congratulations on Graduation. Good luck in beginning your career. Not sure what you mean by it has to be FHA. FHA usually refers to a government mortgage loan guarantee. Are you looking to rent or purchase?

We manage over 500 rental units throughout the Greater Philadelphia Metro Area. We also have many properties for sale that may interest you. Whether you are looking to rent or purchase, I'm sure I can find you somewhere you and your dog will be happy living.

Please feel free to call me to discuss how I can assist you. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Have a Happy New Year!

All the best,
Larry Lichtman

Find a good, experienced Realtor in the area you would like to live. They will either know or find out which developments allow pets and which are FHA approved. A townhouse is a style of home and a condo is the type of ownership. A condo can be a townhome style (2-story) but a townhouse is not necessarily a condo, it could be fee simple ownership but may still have a homeowners' association. NE Philly has plenty of row homes which some now call townhomes. Hope you find a nice home for you and your dog.

Hello Pittylady,

If you purchase a townhouse then wouldn't be any restrictions on dogs unless city ordinance. Condo you would need to check the condo guidelines. Your first step is to get pre-approved for an FHA loan from a mortgage lender or mortgage broker. Once you are pre-approved then you would need to find a realtor that can search for townhomes and condos in the area you want to live.

If you need help with getting pre-approved for an FHA loan, please feel free to call me at 610-906-3109 or you can Apply Online at
