Asked by Shelley_wang78, Plano, TX Wed Dec 19, 2012

I am here with a visting visa, and want to buy a HUD house here. I plan to live in for few months with my daughter and her family. After I left the US, can my daughter keep stay in there with her family?…

Shelley,

I recommend that you speak with someone at HUD directly. You can use this link:

Hi Shelley,

Yes you can. You dont always have to be an owner occupant to purchase HUD homes. It will make the bank more likely to accept the offer and some REO properties have a first look period that only accept offers from Owner Occupant.

Other than that you dont have to be an owner occupant to purchase one.

Please let me know if you need any help with this.

Thanks

Hi Shelley,

As said by my esteemed Realtor associates, you need the advice of qualified lenders.
You have options. There are other sources for forclosure homes.
Once you have determined financing options then contact a Realtor of your choice to find a home that meets your family needs & financial criteria.
