I was due to close on a foreclosed home on 10/20/2008. However I did a final walk through and discovered that the house was vandalized. The purchase is currently on hold as the seller is trying to assess the cost of damage. I am still interested in buying the house. On 10/26/2008, I drove past the house and realized that the seller has done nothing to secure the broken window and door. I would think that the seller would do that immediately to prevent further vandalism. On 10/28/2008, my mortgage broker told me that in order to get a loan, I have to fix the broken window and door and have the house re-appraised. In order to close this deal, I asked my realtor if I could get someone to fix the window and door. The seller's agent was agreeable to it. However without my permission my realtor told the seller's agent that I was doing it for free. The repair has been done. I want to know if I can get reimbursed for this repair and what should I do next?
