Brewster Real estate question

Asked by abira_b, Brewster, NY Fri Oct 4, 2013

Hi,
I'm planning to buy in Brewster and commute everyday to manhattan upper east side. How bad will the commute be and how"s Brewster school district (especially the Elementary and middle school). Is there any real estate appreciation in that area for newer homes?
thanks.

As for the commute, consider a test run and see firsthand if your comfort can be reached. As for the schools, see links below for helpful information...

Are you referring to a driving commute or Metro North? There's a great App called WAZE which provides routing options, distance and time. It also shows detours and accidents. That will be a good resource for you to download to check out your driving options.
Schools are a funny thing- you need to define what criteria is important for you and your family ( curriculum, music, languages-- in addition to the general SAT/ACT scores--- it is a very individualized assessment. Realtors can not offer opinions and can route you to websites for information. Of course, speaking with principals or district personnel is a great option as well. I'd welcome assisting your real estate search.

Hi: You can do good research on school district rankings in Westchester Magazine online or greatschools.org. I'll be happy to help you further analyze if you want. I look forward to speaking with you. Sincerely, Nicholas McMillan, Grand Lux Realty, 914-804-4645. http://www.GrandLuxRealty.com.
