I think it 's best if you contact a buyers agent who will represent you and work best for your interest. Don't forget to google the crime rate in the area.

I advise all of my clients to knock on the neighbor's doors and tell them you are considering buying the home next door. Ask them what they like and perhaps what they don't like about the neighborhood. You can also look up crime statistics on the San Jose Police Dept. web site, http://www.sjpd.org/CrimeStats/

Age of the appliances including the HVAC (Furnace and or AV/Heat) the age of the roof, electrical wiring and power with enough room to expand and a history of what has changed or been upgraded since the time of purchase..
