Are there many heated by natural gas condo units available? Seems as though they're all heat pump/ electric. Thank you.

Natural gas is slowly making its way into Sussex County but only in a handful of places at this time. We do have gas heat but the gas is propane gas. The most efficient units (other than solar and geo-thermal) would be the ones that are "dual fuel" where the HVAC system automatically switches between propane and electric, depending on the weather/temperatures. Your heat pump conserves gas while operating as the primary source for heating and cooling. By switching to gas heat during extremely cold temperatures, you use the strengths of propane heat when it is most needed.

No. Natural Gas infrastructure hasn't been installed everywhere. If homes list Gas as a heat source, it's typically LP (Propane/liquified petroleum) = Gas that's in a tank outside the home and delivered by a truck. Natural Gas infrastructure is being installed very slowly throughout our area. I know a line has come into Lewes = down Rt. 9 / Rt.1 and there are some communities in our area that has it. No condo's in Dewey that I'm aware of.

Call me if questions.

Natural Gas communities are just now beginning in our area. There are very few. Many properties do offer gas heating systems however the gas is propane - not natural gas. In addition, other options to propane gas is electric heat pump.

Natural gas is available but only a small amount of communities for now. It is spreading but slowly.

Please be in touch if we can assist you further. Happy to help !
