Are there any programs in Arlington Heights that help first-timer house buyers? Also are there any programs for single parent with dependents?

I suggest calling the Village Hall and asking them. Going right to the source is usually the best route.
IHDA programs may also be something you want to look at.
FHA is great, unless you have VA benefits, which would be even better.

There are multiple types of programs out there that may be helpful to you. The first thing you will want to do is talk with a mortgage broker. They can help you determine what programs will be the best fit to get you into a property. Most agents have several mortgage resources they can provide.
