Title 1 is where the state, school district, and parents work together to ensure no child is left behind.

Use the website below to learn about Title 1 - Baker Elementary posts their Title 1 goals online for all to see. You might also check the websites for the Folsom and Rucker campuses. All are exemplary rated schools and have very informative campus websites.

I've been a very pleased Prosper resident, with a child in Prosper schools, since 2006. He has made commended scores on TAKS tests in Science, Social Studies and Reading since we moved here. We moved to Prosper based on the reputation of the school district, and they have not disappointed us.

Welcome to Prosper. A Place Where Everyone Matters!
Have a blessed day!

There are Title 1 programs at Baker Elementary, Cockrell Elementary, Folsem Elementary and Rucker Elementary. You can contact Corrie Edmondson - the District Program Coordinator - at

The purpose of this federally funded program is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and
significant opportunity to obtain high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on
challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

Prosper ISD ensures this purpose is met by:

- Making certain that high-quality academic assessments, accountability systems, teacher
preparation and training, curriculum, and instructional materials are aligned with
challenging state academic standards;

- Meeting the educational needs of low-achieving children and children in need of reading

- Closing the achievement gap between high- and low-performing children and between
disadvantaged children and their more advantaged peers;

- Distributing and targeting resources sufficiently to make a difference where needs are

- Improving and strengthening accountability, teaching, and learning by using state
assessment systems designed to ensure that students are meeting challenging state
academic achievement and content standards and increasing achievement overall;

- Providing children additional services that increase the amount and quality of instructional

- Ensuring the access of children to effective, scientifically based instructional materials and
strategies and challenging academic content; and

- Affording parents substantial and meaningful opportunities to participate in the education
of their children.

Title one is where a certain percentage of students are on free breakfast and lunch. It do not believe it is a part of No Child Left Behind. It is where the government gives the school monies for economically at risk students. If you school qualifies for a school wide title one, 40% of the population have to be on free breakfast/lunch. You usually have smaller class sizes, more technology money, more money for books and supplies, more assistants, etc... But the way a school gets on the list is due to economic statistics from that school.

Title 1 is part of the "No child left behind" federal progam. It means that the school receives money from the government. I believe the Prosper district is indeed a title 1 district. Prosper ISD is highly regarded.
