Appraisal Value

My condo was appraised for 10K less than the selling price. A few days after the appraiser was onsite at the condo - the apprasier called me and asked if I was paying any of the Buyer's closing costs. Why would the appraiser need this information for an FHA appraisal?

This appraiser has to do with the buyer's mortgage loan. If he doesn't appraise it at the agreed upon price, the mortgage may not go through.
