Short sale experience? Yes, I have it. Enough to tell you that it is a nightmare whether you are buying or selling. My last transaction of this type was a single family home in Hinsdale that was supposed to close August 1 of this year, the same day that my clients closed on the sale of their Bucktown duplex condo. While the condo closed the sfh did not. Nor did it for any of the following 28 days. Finally, at the end of the month, after interceding constantly with the bank (the true decision-maker in the process), we were able to close the sale and my clients and their kids were able to move into their home and to take their belongings off the moving truck where they had been sequestered for the past month. (The belongings, not the family, had been sequestered.)
Here's the question - are you looking to buy a short sale? If so, there are any number of realtors who will purport to be expert - choose one of them. If, however, you are seeking to sell your property as a short sale, I will be glad to discuss your options with you and to bring to the table the most extensive marketing strategy possible to seek the best value for your sale. And finally, if you seek a real estate professional to help you make informed and value-oriented purchase decisions predicated on expert negotiation, I will be glad to discuss options with you as they relate to Bucktown (one of the more significant segments of my representation portfolio).

Best of luck.
