Anyone know NYS law on closing, specifically time is of the essence?

Asked by Elm, Albany, NY Tue Dec 2, 2008

Need to extend my closing a few weeks after current closing date. Seller will not agree to extend. Is there a law in NYS that says you don't have to close on the date specified, meaning that there was nothing in the contract that said that "time was of the essence". Any help would be appreciated....
