There have been numerous people that have posted on Craig's list about possible rentals. They all seem to say that there has been a reason for them to go out of the country. Many of them are actually hijacking photos off of websites and moving them to other sites and using them as rentals. Please be careful. If you can't see the property there is probably a good chance that the so called listing on this rental may be a scam. Don't send any money to anyone unless you can view the property and meet with the owner. Good luck! ... more

Well, its been almost six years since your question was posted and there are no longer any Villas for sale for under $75,000. There are still a few that are in less desirable locations and in need of renovation for $80,000. However, the better A floor plan units that are updated are over $100,000 and there are not many for sale.

One constant comment I see is that building 1 and 2 are the more desirable locations because they are closer to the ocean. Unless they happen to have an ocean view this is untrue. Especially if you are renting your unit. The building 3 units rent well in the off season because of the indoor facilities.
I purchased a unit with an A floor plan (outdoor balcony) in building 3 in Oct of 2013 for $52,000, invested $15,000 in renovation and have maintained a constant 90% occupancy since with excellent reviews by my guests. Villa has more than paid its expenses and has appreciated $30,000 to $50,000. Management has done an excellent job of upgrading and maintaining the many amenities. Regime fees are very reasonable and I foresee much more appreciation in the future.
