You could look into getting a FHA loan. FHA's website states: "Minimum credit score requirements for FHA home loans depend on which FHA loan product the applicant needs. If you have enough value/equity, why not look into a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit). It is easier to get. It allows you to easily remove some of your equity without a long-term mortgage. I believe that the closing costs are cheaper too.
