Jim, I would agree with Gordon. I looked at the surrounding homes. Some were in the 7 to 8 thousand dollar range for summer taxes until they were sold. Then the property tax pop up took effect and they are paying 17,000.

There is a Property Tax estimator available at https://treas-secure.state.mi.us/ptestimator/ptestimator.asp make sure you enter the correct school district.

Good luck in your search, I understand Florida has a similar pop-up tax problem.
