Contact an insurance company and get a quote. Flood insurance is supposed to cost the same regardless of what agent you use for a particular property. It isn't like regular home owners that can vary all of the place for the same house. ... more

I agree with the previous poster. Mostly anything worth shopping for you will likely have to go to Greenville or Virginia for. The closest "mall" has a jc penney and belks, that's about it. ... more

It would be a help if the listing/Trulia added FEMA flood insurance est costs /risk/flood zone info. It is becoming a much larger part of the economics in some areas.

Hi aandlinvestinggroup,

I would suggest checking out similar properties to compare. Find them here:

You may also want to try talking to a local agent to get their opinion on pricing your unit. You can find one here:

Hope that helps get you started!

I don't know if it is back with the bank or not. There is a Food Lion about 11 miles at HWY 17 and Elizabeth City is about a 30 min. drive. Everything you asked about is there. The house does need carpet and minor repairs inside and outside. It appears to be partly in the flood plain. Google Perquimans county gis. It sits far back on the lot and wave action does appear to splatter the back. The lot needs to be tapered so the water drain away from the house. The S/D does have some kind of road or bridge issue. It is not what I would consider move in ready. $10 or $15 thousand would certainly put it is very good condition. Consider it you buy it you have an hour drive to get to even a Wal Mart and back. The local law enforcement said the area is very quite and little crime. There are only a few homes built so you will have to import friends. It has an excellent dock , boat ramp, and club house.
In as is condition in the present economy the home ( in my opinion) is worth $250k to $325k. If you are driving everyday to Elizabeth City it is worth less. If you are retired and love the water it is worth more.
