A very good question! It is prudent and wise to make an informed decision. You must research this to your own satisfaction. There are many variables to address; are there children, pets, elderly or gardens that could or will not be affected? Public safety is of utmost importance, Edison will have had to pass very stringent tests to be able to install a plant of that size and type. Make a list of your short term and long term concerns. Call the local legislator's office for direction to the agency that oversees this kind of utility. Also contact Edison customer service for direction where to find in depth answers. I do not deal in rentals, however you can check with The So Cal Edison for appropriate programs to address your remaining frugal with your energy costs. Each utilitiy company has it's own list of cost savings ideas and some work beautifully. I have a seller with a 1686sqft Mobilehome that spends $6.00 a month for his electricity costs...he shows me his billing each month, he runs a swamp cooler correctly and uses low energy lightbulbs and low energy applicances, really!! ... more

Diane is spot on. You won't find many "trailers" built from the early 30's up until June 15, 1976. From that date on the construction (HUD) code/s required that they be built like most site built construction.
