There are many first time homebuyer incentive programs. When you're searching, focus on state run websites. There are many lenders that pay the SEO fees to be first on your search, so look for URL/web addresses with ".gov" in them, so you know you're going to a state run website.

Here's one for NY Suffolk Co that came up on a quick google search:

Consider working with an agent of your own who can set up automatic updates based on your criteria straight from MLS. Rather than searching through third party sites, perhaps try www.mlsli.com the consumer version of MLS. ... more

This depends on the current market conditions and if it's a buyer's or seller's market. It also depends on the neighborhood, since Suffolk County is a fairly large County. In my opinion, if a home is priced correctly, then it shouldn't sell under the asking price. Every situation is different. ... more

Hi Lillian! There are many great websites out there that can help you assess local school districts. I suggest checking out www.schooldigger.com. Whenever you find that next home, you can always request a tour of the local school, and ask to sit in on a classroom in session.

I hope this answered your question! If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me by the ways below.

Hi Debra,

Trulia does not charge $200 for your listings to appear on our site. Many brokers an MLS's already feed their agents' listings to Trulia, and it's just a matter of creating an account and claiming them. Follow the link below for information on submitting and claiming your listings.

If your MLS charges $200, you may want to look into other options, such as having your broker feed them directly to Trulia (if they don't already), or using a third-party site that syndicates to Trulia.

Regards,

Charlie Wheeler
