Hi Cynthia,

Trulia designated a large area of Hampton that is located within and nearby the Collesium District, as Hampton Roads Center. This area has many neighborhoods that are close to the best shopping and restuarants in Hampton.

Feel free to email me the addresses or MLS numbers for homes you've been considering and I will get back to you with more information. I look forward to serving you in this important endeavor. Feel free to call me anytime with questions or service requests. You can find my contact information on my Trulia profile or on my website by clicking the link below.

All the best,
Joe McAvoy

When you are ready to buy I work with REO properties and Investors daily. I also receive listings of foreclosures held by my company as soon as they hit the market.

I can add you to my email list to receive bank owned listings.

Normally, real estate agents provide you with a list of several home inspectors and you get to decided Who do you hired to do your inspection. The main reason that you paid for a professional home inspector is because you need to know what is wrong with the property, before make a decision. If you think that is an omission in his report, you should hold him liable for missing out on something so important.

Best of Luck,

From a personal experience, we were in a similar situation. My husband works in Suffolk and I worked in downtown Norfolk (near MacArthur) at the time. We choose the quaint area of Olde Historic Wythe in Hampton. It offered us both easy access to 664 and for me offered me the opportunity to go 64 or 664 depending on the time of the year. We were looking for somewhere close to the water, dog friendly where we could walk them or bike, and good value for our buck. I hope that helps! I would suggest you visit a couple homes in areas you are interested in during rush hour traffic. Then you can see what your commute times would look like for you both! Do a Friday or day before a holiday :) ... more
