If you are asking about the home you were looking at online, that it is a home in clark-pleasant school district, which is Whiteland Schools. They have a 9th grade academy and for that particular rental, I'd call the school to be sure, but it would be Break-o-Day or Whiteland Elementary. They can tell you for sure. ... more

There is a great deal of confusion by the public and by agents regarding this question. The answer is it depends. No school has to legally accept transfer students but they may be allowed to attend a school outside of the district of their residence IF, the following conditions are met:
1. A parent would have to make application to the desired school corp and most have a deadline prior to the beginning of the school year.
2. The student would have to be able to meet whatever criteria the school requires for the transferring student.
3. The family would be responsible for the transportation of the student to and from the school.

Each district should have their own written policy for the acceptance of transfer students but some believe erroneously that schools have to accept outside students and that is not the case. In a nutshell, this is the policy for the state of Indiana. I hope this helps.
