Hi Gsteve55 - I've lived here in Greenville for just over six years and I'd say that for folks who enjoy the outdoors, this is an excellent place to live. If you located within the downtown/north side, you're within 15 minutes of both Furman and North Greenville universities (which have beautiful campuses for walking & bike riding and 15-20 minutes of several beautiful state parks, such as Paris Mountain and Jones Gap. Just a bit further away are Table Rock State Park and beautiful lakes such as Joccassee and Keowee. As an avid hiker myself, I can attest to the beauty and benefits of the hiking trails in the area!

The northern part of the county is also very popular with cyclists and there are a number of resources for cycling information, trail maps, etc., especially from the Hincapie brothers, Rich and George. You should look up their projects, Pla d'Adet and Hotel Domestique, both of which are geared towards cyclists.

I am selling new construction in Blythwood subdivision it is out in the country and is close to hwy 85.
Saluda river is just down the road and if you are wanting a bigger lake you can take Hwy 85 to Lake Hartwell. Blythwood is located in the Wren school district which is top in the upstate. Downtown Greenville is 15 minutes away. If you want to build the house of your choice and pick your colors it will take 3 to 4 months according to weather. Let me know if you want me to send you information.
Thank You,
Teresa

Robby,

I think it depends on your market and where your home is in the market. It sounds like its an older home from what you have said. If you are planning on listing your home soon, I would ask your agent advise you on your market. If granite or similar countertops are what is normal in your area, when you price your house, price it accordingly. ... more
