There is a small shopping center about a mile from Greenough Way. There is another about two miles away. There is a larger shopping area along New Garden Rd. which is about 3.5 miles away. As the responder from Traffic Realty says, nothing is very far in Greensboro.
The urban loop will be nearby, but there are bridges planned over Fleming Rd. and Horsepen Creek to allow local traffic to procede as usual. During construction, there is likely to be some traffic interference, though. An alternate route would be to exit the Cardinal on Old Oak Ridge Rd. and hit Flemming on the other side of the construction zone.
As far as noise from the airport goes, folks I have talked to say they hardly notice the airplanes after a short time living there.
