As for your question, the full answer is it depends.

From the perspective of the appraisal, yes it will decrease the appraised value of the home. The appraisers look only at numbers and does the house have it or not. (A 25 yr old functional air conditioner scores the exact same appraisal value as 2 month old high SEER unit). So, having one less bath will appraise lower.

However a single larger, modernized, well-appointed, aesthetically pleasing bathroom may create additional perceived value in the eye of a potential buyer.

Regarding Trulia, only realtors can post listings directly to Trulia. Therefore, contact a local realtor or visit in person and have the agent remove the Trulia listing from the MLS feed. However, there are other real estate websites and have you verified if your home is listed on other websites? Examples: Yahoo, Zillow, Postlets, etc. On Zillow you can claim your home and under the "More" tab, state it is no longer for sale and it will be removed. You can do this for free - just register first.

Finally, as all real estate websites get their information from your county's public database, please request to have your address removed from your county's public information so this way it won't be advertised all over the internet.

Ridgewood has a few condo/townhome rental options available for the low $2000 range however the lowest price right now for a full house rental in Ridgewood is $2,750. (possibly negotiable). As far as Glen Rock vs. Ridgewood goes, both towns offer similar amenities. Both have commuting options (train and bus), top rated schools (GRHS rated #4), downtown entertainment, etc. I'm from the area and live here in GR, on the border of Ridgewood and take advantage of both towns amenities. A fabulous place to live!

I have lived in Glen Rock for 20 + years and we went through a rennovation where we had to move out. I had always heard the train and after a while you dont even notice it. But when we had to rent for 7 months I had to find a home that was as close to the train as we currently are, so that my husband could walk there. We ended up renting house across the street fromt the Main line train right by town and it was a wonderful experience. We loved living there for that 7 months!! So my answer to your train question is Glen Rock is the town it is because of the wonderful easy trains/bus commute to manhattan, the warmth of a small town and amazing schools. So I would not hesistate to invest in buying a home or a townhouse in Glen Rock. It depends on how you define nice. A 2BR garden apartment in Glen Rock will be north of $1,500 and there aren't that many around. A decent 3BR in a quiet residential area in Glen Rock rents for $2,500 minimum and you are still paying the property taxes through the rent. To escape high taxes within a town, you sort of have to leave... completely. Moving to a rental fails to avoid the taxes, and you lose a huge tax deduction also.
