Very diverse community from the richest to the poorest. There are $500/month apartments near the lake and there are million dollar mansions.

Weather checkout something like http://www.weather.com/weather/today/White+Rock+Lake+Park+TX…

Community...obviously with the different economic demographics very diverse communities with different interests. If there is a common one, it is people who like more green, trees, landscaping and ones who enjoy the outdoors...biking, hiking, walking, skating, sailing, running....out around the lake.

You might check out a couple of these websites:

Great area to live in, I have many clients in the White Rock area. The community has Lots of events for the residents and just everybody for that matter. As mentioned only a few miles to Downtown and depending on traffic should be 15-30 min. :) avoid the traffic and you should be closer to 15. Call, email or text me your info and search criteria and I will set you up a personalized search. I look forward to assisting you in any way I can.

Hi Sampgillian,

South and West side of White Rock Lake is about 4-5 miles from downtown. You are about 10-15 minutes from downtown Dallas. There is also little forest hill and Casa Linda which is the East Part of White Rock lake.

As far as which is the best part it is more of a personal question. It all depends on what you are looking for. Lakewood and Mstreet is probably one of the most popular part of town in Dallas. Its on the East side of Highland Park and North Central Expressway and the home value is very stable due to its only 10 minutes away from Downtown and close to uptown ( 5 mins driving).

For community information - check out http://www.findyourtexashome.com. It has details on each community and housing information.

Please let me know if you have another questions.

Dear Sam,

There are many lovely areas around White Rock Lake which include running, cycling, and sailing, also dog parks, it's a sought after lifestyle in the Dallas area.
Many historic homes surround White Rock Lake with beautiful and scenic views. Visit
http://www.watermelon-kid.com for the history of White Rock Lake. The lake is 100 years old and 9 miles around and is the recreation center of Dallas. This area includes: The Dallas Arboretum - www. harbormaster.org and the Audubon Society - http://www.audubon.org

The weather in Texas changes alot, our Summers are hot, but during the winter months we sometimes enjoy beautiful sunny crisp cool days. and people of Texas have a charm and down to earth outlook on life, very friendly! It's a great place to raise a family.

I believe a commute to downtown Dallas might be 20 minutes, but you must take into account rush hour like any other city.

There are great views of the water, quiet and serene spots around the lake.

Some of the popular neighborhoods are Lake Highland, Lakewood, Casa Linda , Highland Park

It really depends on what price range you are looking at and what you want in a home, acreage, pool, lake view, ect.

Please contact me and we can meet at my office an go over all of the specific details you are looking for in a home and I can email you listings that meet your criteria.

I would love to help you find the perfect home!

That will depend on what you want to spend, that will determine the part you live in.
Weather is the same as Dallas. The commute to downtown could be long if your driving during rush hour.
