I concur with what many have already said. Cape Coral is really a great place to live.

I have lived in huge cities in the North Eastern US and in a rural town of only 2000 residents in Nevada as well as a small mountain town in Lake Tahoe and I must say the Cape has been the best place I have ever lived.

The wonderful weather, the friendly people and the 2nd lowest crime rate in the state are all positive features but perhaps the best part of the Cape is I have all the conveniences of living in a major metropolitan area coupled with the feeling of small town living.

For me, it's paradise. I barely ever lock my vehicle up and feel perfectly safe on those occasions when I decide to just sleep outside in my hammock. (although that 3Am thunderstorm the other night kinda cut that short, talk about a rude awakening, lol!)

You have already made the right choice of locations, now all you have to do is find a great Realtor to aid you with the transition and I would love to apply for the job when you are ready to begin interviewing agents to represent you!

Have a terrific day and I hope you enjoy your new home when you find it!

Respectfully,
Anthony

Hi Dennis

I have lived and worked in Cape Coral for nearly 25 years. I have also raised 6 children in Cape Coral, have 4 grand kids here, as well as my parents. I can assure you, if I had ANY reservation at all, concerning their safety, I woudl never live here. I am not going to say we dont have our issues from time to time, becasue we do. But our very comptent police force keeps us safe and allows our wonderful residents to enjoy a very, very high quality of life. You will never regret chosing Cape Coral as your home and that of your family. Welcome!

Hi Dennis,
Great question. There is lots of great info available through Trulia. Here is a link that they offer regarding your question: http://www.trulia.com/real_estate/Cape_Coral-Florida/communi…

You may also find some info using websites like http://www.zipskinny.com, just add a zip code and you will get some statistics that you can review. The local website http://www.capecoral.net may also lead you to other information that you may find helpful.

Usually what you read and what you experience can be competely different, so any time your researching another area, its helpful to make it relative and also search your current local areas statistics. One thing to remember is that statistics are relative to population size, so those comparisons should also be made. You could also try to contact the local police departments for additional information about what they are doing to prevent crimes in the area, and what other kind of community programs they offer to include such things as neighborhood watches and other volunteer run organizations to keep local communities and neighborhoods involved and as crime free as you may be looking for.

Real estate agents are not allowed to discuss crime statistics but if you do your research you learn that THE FORBES LISTS CAPE CORAL FLORIDA IN "BEST PLACES TO RETIRE IN 2012". Last year CNN Money compiled a similar list to the one recently released by Forbes that ranks Cape Coral as one of the top places to retire in 2012.

For the complete article visit http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2012/0625/investment-guide-12-c…

With more canals in our city than anywhere else in the world (we have over 400 miles of canals), lack of a state income tax, fabulous weather and more Cape Coral truly is paradise.

The annual report by Forbes is compiled from various data that takes into consideration financial factors, weather, availability of health care, crime rates and more.

Feel free to contact me if I can assist you with your home search.
