Well it's a matter of perspective and goal. In general the area does have some shady neighborhoods. I had a client purchase a property less than two miles away. The property was a fixer-upper, but his intentions were to do a quick remodel and resale. Prior to listing the house, we paid the property a visit only to find 2 homeless people living in the house. Needless to say, the floor was flooded and the place was trashed. Not to scare you, but that was my experience with the area. What is your budget and what are your requirements for the rental property? I am very familiar with the area and can definitely find you the most bang for your buck.
