Where are the horse properties in eastern L.A. Co.?

Asked by Tinga, Chino Hills, CA Fri Jul 13, 2007

With horse boarding costs rising, I'm looking for a horse prop. within a 20 mi. commute to my job in Diamond Bar. The closest areas I've found (La Habra Hts, Covina Hills, Walnut) are completely unaffordable, but Norco, Riverside, and Corona are too far away. Are there any NEIGHborhoods I'm forgetting? San Dimas & Chino are on my radar, but still a bit pricey.

Not sure how far it is to Diamond Bar, but Long Beach does have horse property that is relatively affordable.

La Verne also has some very nice horse properties and an equestrian center.

When it comes to "affordable" horse property in Los Angeles County I think your right on the money with San Dimas & Chino. San dimas is a great city and there are some lovely properties available here. I actually know someone that is on the fence of deciding to sell or not sell their horse property in San Dimas. If you would like I can email you some available lisitngs if you haven't already seen them? Please visit my website of you would like to search any areas for yourself. Just click the "Search the MLS" link.

Hi ,

Are you sill looking for a horse property? What is your preferred price range? I just listed an amazing custom built home in San Dimas with a lot zoned for two horses...Please contact me if interested, MLS # 10-483259 we also have little video for it on Youtube (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V_Lff5G2aY ) but it doesn't do it justice, nor mentions the en suite/separate guest quarters. It's listed at $639,000 and is absolutely stunning. Don't forget Alta Loma.

It is a great horse area with stables in the area. Houses for sales on large lots that are horse property. Many riding trails and horse trail easements in the area. Please call me for more information. I know of one house currently for sale 3BR/2BA on 1/2 acre of horse property $550-$575,000 range. Thanks. Linda Campbell . There are also equestrian properties in Burbank and a few in Glendale. Once again, I don't know about your commute, but...

I'm not sure what the commute would be, but Shadow Hills, Lake View Terrace, Sunland/Tujunga area usually have some.

Hi JB, I just looked for you and there is only one horse property available in Long Beach and it is listed for $875,000. What price are you trying to stay under and I can try to point you toward some other communities?

Try Chris McKeen at Prudential Anaheim office. Please tell her I gave you her name.

Also, you can go to tack stores in the area and pick up a few of the local equestrian magazines. Some have real estate sections. Even if you do not find your property advertised, phone a few of the Realtors who have ads. Find out if that Realtor "happened into the equestrian listing by chance" or if that Realtor has an interest in horses. When you find a Realtor who rides or owns horses, you will find a resource that can help you find the right property.

Good Luck

Rebecca, thanks for the suggestion... Long Beach would certainly be an option for me. But I just searched the MRMLS for "horses allowed" properties in Long Beach and didn't come up with a single listing (and that was for any price). Any hints on how to find them?
