Maintenance costs will depend on the building, it's age, it's current condition, any foreseeable repairs, etc., there really is no average as each structure is unique; as for management fees, consider interviewing a few companies, and go from there...

Chris,
It's a little unclear what you are asking. Are you talking about buying a building in Carroll Gardens, because if so it would, in all likelihood be more than 2 stories, which is what a duplex is. A duplex is one apt. on two stories. Do you mean buying part of a building that has been turned to condos or co-ops (most Caroll Gardens homes are owner occupied with 1-2 rentals)? Management costs could mean maintaining your property, or could mean having a management company involved. Maintenance is what you would pay in a co-op, or do you mean maintaining the property if you bought the building.
What is it exactly that you are thinking of buying?
