F.l., Home Buyer in Metro DC

What are the different neighborhoods of Ann Arbor like?

Asked by F.l., Metro DC Sat Nov 17, 2007

Considering a move to Ann Arbor and would like information about different neighborhoods, lifestyles, home-prices. We are professionals, looking for walkability and entertainment options (restaurants, bars, shopping). We would be relocating from the East Coast and not sure we want to live in a condo. Are there any neighborhoods that fit the bill? Are there resources on the web?

I live here, what type of neighborhood are you looking for ? If you want to live close to downtown, which is highly desirable, the homes are older. Some are fixed up and others need updating but everyone likes to live close to town or the U.M. so they can walk to events at U of M., restaurants etc. The newer homes are out in subdivisions. Lots of trees. Use my search site below, you will love it, google maps, satellite images so you can see where the house is placed and multiple photos. Good luck, let me know if I can help you further.

F.I. View walkability of various neighborhoods here

Realtors are not able to give much information about specific neighborhoods and which are better due to Federal and State anti-steering laws

A good website is http://moveinmichigan.com which contains homes from 95 percent of real estate companies and community information.

Oh, there are so many nice areas in Ann Arbor. Have you visited here yet? Old Westside sounds like what you are looking. There are some really cool loft condos that you might like, I would love to send you listings.
You mentioned walking to things I assume you would like to enjoy some of Ann Arbors culture too.
We also have a number of events going on daily in the area that are free. Do you subscribe to the Ann Arbor Observer yet?
You could look on our company website http://www.reinhartrealors.com, also http://www.mlive.com
I hope this helps you.
