Long Islnad City and Astoria have views of Manhattan and have the 7 and N train. Sunnyside, Woodside, Jackson Heights all are along the 7 line. Forrest Hills has several trains stops along Queens Blvd. on the other hand, a nieghborhood such as Whitestone is about 60-70 minutes to the Wall St area with a bus and train ride.

Each of these neighborhoods offer different housing options and price ranges. The key questions are: What are you looking for (co-op, condo, or single family home), what is your price range, and what trade-offs are you willing to make. For example, Long Island City has great co-ops & condos that are one train stop to NYC, but they are expensive compared to other units in Queens.

Good Luck

You have many choices as far as towns, a lot will depend on your finances, the type of housing of interest, how near transportation you would like to be, etc.
