This is a little complicated.
If the property is in Frisco, Collin, then the applicable taxing entities are:
City of Frisco 0.4650
Collin County 0.2425
Collin County Community College 0.0863
Frisco Independent School District 1.390 OR Prosper Independent School District 1.64
For a total rate of 2.1838 OR 2.4338 without exemptions, depending on the exact location.

If the property is in Frisco, Denton, then the applicable taxing entities are:
City of Frisco 0.4650
Denton County 0.24980
Lewisville Independent School District 1.4087
For a total rate of 2.1235 without exemptions.

The differences vary depending on the specific home you purchase. The tax rate is the city, county, school, college, and hospital, and what ever other special taxing district that exists. So, you could have a home in frisco with plano schools, carrollton schools, little elm schools, etcetera. Let me know if you need sorting out a certain house. Keith W Hefner

As the others have noted, it is not a huge difference and it shouldn't break the bank.

However, when most of my clients consider the "east" or "west" Frisco, in the end, it boils down to where they work and how easy they want highway access to their homes. Both "sides" have just as good lifestyle and shopping conveniences.

After they decide where they want to be (close proximity), then they can select a community in their budget that fits them.

Good luck. Glad to know another person is thinking about moving to Frisco.

Very straight forward:

Frisco in Collin county rate is 2.14
Frisco in Denton county rate is 2.05

A part of Frisco in Denton county falls within the Little Elm ISD and the tax rate is 1.76

We have a nice tax rate chart we can send you if you are interested. We can send by email.
It outlines these and many other cities as well.
