Short term rental (6 month) in Chicago

Asked by ali, Chicago, IL Fri Aug 17, 2012

Single professional female in 30's moving to Chicago in September. Looking to start renting either 1st or 15th. I will be working at Central Dupage in Winfield through January 2013. So prefer something on UPW. A neighborhood with a good singles / social scene

Most rentals in Chicago are for 12 months or longer, rarely do you find a short term (6 months). Try searching on Craigslist, beware of scams, and

Better yet if you can get your hands on a copy of "the reader" newpaper. You're likely to find something there, but you'll have to do it the old fashioned way of thumbing through the newspaper.

Good luck!

Your best bet would be to search Craigslist for a sublet. Most rentals are going to be for 12 months and anyone offering you a 6 month lease is going to charge you significantly more since you will be ending the lease in the middle of the winter.

Good luck!

No idea what UPW means, but most rentals are for 12 month leases. You might need a sublet or roommate situation or corporate suite.

Lot of them out there. Check out all the areas in the downtown area. For a short term rental, check out craigslist.
