My husband has received a Military transfer to Westover, MA. We are looking at Belchertown and Wilbraham to live because of good schools. Any advice?

Asked by Dnpmic, Wilbraham, MA Thu Jan 6, 2011

It is very difficult to know where to live when moving to a new area and with Westover being a reserve base, they do not have the newcomer support that we are accustomed to in active duty areas. We are planning on purchasing a home this summer (we will be reporting at the end of May). It is easy to see what areas look great online but it would really help to have some advice from the locals. Our daughter will be a sophmore and a great school is the most important aspect. Affordablity it a close second. Thanks, in advance for your help.

First of all, thank you for your family's service to our country. I'm currently working with some Military homebuyers.

Do you know what kind of lending you'd be using or how much you've been pre-approved for regarding a mortgage? How many beds/baths/etc. will you need, and how much living area and acreage would you require?
