Hi Sc82, Stockbridge is an enchanted, historic Berkshire town, with lovely, stores, restaurants, Red Lion Inn and the famed Norman Rockwell Main Street. There is also a great, large motor boat Lake in Stockbridge, called Stockbridge Bowl. So much to know about the Stockbridge being settled in the early days and so much great stuff about Stockbridge during the Gilded Age. You'll find plenty of the detail by Googling Stockbridge, MA.
The temperature in Stockbridge is probably the same as in your town of Lexington, MA, but since the Stockbridge is located in the Berkshire Mountains, I wouldn't be surprised if the climate is bit fresher and few degrees less during the hot summers.
Good luck and if you haven't discover the magic of the Berkshires yet, it is just about the time you did.
Call me at any time, I'll assist you in your Berkshire home search and share with you my love for the region.

Hello, just to give you another perspective: Yes, there is but its very small and depending what you are looking for it may become old fast. As someone else noted Great Barrington will have much more to offer for variety of restaurants, stores etc. Also, even though Lenox is smaller, it has more high quality restaurants packed in, as well as many other perks. You should definitely just go stay at one of the towns and then visit all of them and see which you like best! They are all very close. Good luck!

Hi,

Dagmar could not have presented a better picture of Stockbridge! It is very charming, and a desirable town for tourists as well as home-owners. If you are interested in a town with a movie theatre (as well as restaurants, shops, etc), you might consider Great Barrington. Great Barrington was named #1 Small Town in America by Smithsonian Magazine in May 2012. Great Barrington is about 10 minutes south of Stockbridge. And these are only two of the terrific towns worth visiting in the Berkshires...

Come visit!
