I've been in the city too long. What does it mean when a property listing states "utlities available" or "utilities at?

street"? I'ma thinking that it means I'll have to pay to have utilites connected from wherever to my house; am I correct

Generally speaking you're correct. This could have to do with Water, Sewer, Electrical or Cable. Depending on which utilities and your requirements it can often be a good idea to get a cost estimate before moving forward with an offer. If electrical service is on the road in front of the house and you just need to connect it's a big difference in cost versus being a half mile from the nearest electrical service.

Absolutely correct! Depending on the wording, it means that utilities are in the area OR run down the road in front of the property.
