I'm moving to Joliet, IL for work. What are some of the hip (bars, nightlife, restaurants etc) places to live? I would like a commute of about 30min

Check out some neighborhoods in the southwest suburbs. Orland, Tinley, etc.

Thank you for your replies, just to add, I don't have kids or anything. And I prefer to live around other young professionals not necessarily a lot of families. Not sure if living near downtown would be worth commute or cost.

Joliet is a major suburban city. There are some very nice homes and well thought of school district in New Lenox, Plainfield, Crest Hill, Lockport, all within an easy commute to Joliet. Joliet has two casinos and quite a few restaurants and bars. It is called little Chicago for a reason. And it is certainly more than just a prison.

Feel free to contact me and I can give you some specifics about the area and available homes.

The truth is that there is nothing hip about Joliet. Sorry. They have a prison. Probably a nice place to live I guess. Another agent sent you a link, that's a good idea. Good luck.
