Anne, Home Buyer in upstate ny

I'm looking for a quaint area on the west coast. Where do you suggest? Waterfront is a plus!

Fort Myers Beach is a quaint island community with good deals to be had at present, both waterfront and non-waterfront, although no one on this community is far from the Gulf and the Bay. For most the year, it's also a quiet aera. February and March, however, brings a lot touists. If this sounds appealing to you, please contact me and I'll be happy to assist you.

I would recommend Englewood, is an old Florida fishing village all grown up with modern stores and services. It still has the home town feel where everyone know the neighbors. You can go strolling down Dearbon and enjoy the Art Galleries, overlook the Gulf of Mexico waves coming in, and enjoy a morning coffee at a sidewalk cafe with the "regulars". Waterfront is all around you in this town. You could have a property with Lemon Bay (Intercostal Waterway) on one side and the Gulf of Mexcio on the next. We also have riverside comunity and the rivers join out to the Gulf or the Bay. If you are interested, I got a DVD that highlights features of the area and I would love to show you around.

I would highly recommend looking at Seaside in the panhandle of florida--it is where the movie "the Truman Show" was filmed because of its idyllic setting and architecture and small town appeal. Picket fences, town square, lots of bicycles, and gorgeous beaches abound--would be happy to get some more information to you.

Anne, Have you ever heard of Apalachicola, FL. With a population of about 3500 and only one traffic light this Historical fishing village fits the bill. The South Historic District features many turn of the century homes of the Queen Anne and Greek Revival architecture on lots with majestic palms and moss draped Live Oaks. Although the area is referred to as the Forgotten Coast some say Apalachicola is Mayberry by the Bay. Contact me for more on this unique area of Florida.

When I see the words West Coast I think of California so just in case you are thinking of coming out to California there are many nice beach communities. Cardiff by the Sea here in Southern California is a nice area. Carpinteria is alson a nice area just south of Santa Barbara. Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach etc. If you are looking for a nice town, check out Temecula, it is not waterfront but it is only 45 minutes away. You can look at properties here on my site, just in case this is the area that you were considering. I would be happy to help you in your search if it is here in California.

Port Angeles is the best place on the planet. Not only are we surrounded by natural beauty, fresh air and water but there are lots of outdoor adventure opportunities. Our community is just the right size and housing prices are good. Check out our chamber of commerce:

Marco Island is a great community with incredible sugar sand beaches. Homes are on canals and it is Paradise. You may find it on the expensive side, where heading inland in Naples you can find some very affordable options still very close to the beaches.

If you do research on the west coast relative to quality of life you will most certainly come upon the Venice area that has been recognized as the "Best Place to Retire" and "Best Place to Relocate." The criteria used to earn this destinction include: weather, educational opportunity, crime rate, social & cultural experiences, proximity to beaches, and basically how people currently living there like the location.

There are many reasons why people elect to settle in a location and it is purely up to individual preference...but this location is one you can not affort to pass up. It deserves a look!

We would be happy to support your continued interest.
